JunLi flood control gates undergo pre flood inspection
It has been nearly a year since the installation of the JunLi hydrodynamic fully automatic flood control gate (hydrodynamic fully automatic flood control gate) at Wong Tai Sin Station of the Hong Kong MTR. Recently, in response to the inspection before the flood season, the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and the senior management of the Hong Kong MTR conducted a water test on the JunLi hydrodynamic fully automatic flood control gate. Representatives from the Fire Services Department and the Police Station respectively participated. During the water trial, the JunLi water power fully automatic flood control gate still operated stably and performed excellently.

In 2023, Hong Kong experienced rare extreme weather, with heavy rainfall causing severe waterlogging in many parts of the city. Faced with such a serious problem, the Hong Kong MTR attaches great importance to it and quickly takes action. In order to find the most effective solution, MTR has conducted in-depth research on different flood control technologies and products from around the world, evaluating and comparing them one by one.
In 2024, JunLi water powered fully automatic flood control gate adopts advanced water power technology and does not require external electric drive. The opening and closing angle of the gate automatically adjusts with the change of water level, and it usually lies on the ground without affecting normal traffic. After comprehensive consideration of performance, reliability, maintenance costs, and compatibility with existing station facilities, the Hong Kong MTR ultimately chose the JunLi hydrodynamic fully automatic flood control gate, which will be installed and completed water testing acceptance at Wong Tai Sin Station in 2024.
In recent days before the flood season in Hong Kong in 2025, the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and the senior management of the Hong Kong MTR conducted a successful water test on the JunLi automatic flood control gate, providing strong guarantees for the normal operation of the station and the safe travel of passengers.
It is crucial to choose advanced and reliable flood control equipment when facing increasingly frequent extreme weather. We look forward to the nationwide implementation of JunLi flood control gates to protect more urban rail transit from flooding, making urban rail transit more comfortable in the face of extreme weather, and providing solid guarantees for the safety of citizens’ travel.
